Buddies
CTAP has a long tradition of pairing younger swimmers with older swimmers as buddies for the season. Through friendship and mentorship these relationships help maintain CT traditions, build team spirit, and foster a supportive environment for all swimmers. Buddies cheer each other on at meets, exchange small notes or tokens of encouragement at home meets, and help build a sense of belonging within the team.
MaryAnne and Heather will be hosting buddy crafting events. Look for exact dates near the buddy list or in the newsletter. These events will take place during the morning practices in the south ramada. Swimmers are encouraged to come early or stay late to do a 5–10 minute craft. Swimmers will take their projects home and bring them back for that night’s meet to give to their buddies.
Please bring a small gift to exchange at the other home meets. These can be drawings, notes, homemade treats, snacks, drinks, Marlin bucks for the snack bar, art/craft projects, water bottle, small games, etc. Homemade is encouraged. These are small tokens of friendship and support.
Just as importantly, seek out your buddy and cheer them on!
Coaches will post a buddy list on the CTAP bulletin board soon.
