All Marlins (Swimmers and Parents!),

This is Fred.

We have two invitational swim meets every year. Each meet counts as one of your three meets to qualify for Championships.

The 9-18 invitational (6 June) is the first invitational on schedule. This is a great meet for the older kids to compete against swimmers of their own age (All 9-year-old girls, All 9-year-old boys, All 10-year-old girls, etc.) in the championship pool and a lot of fun. It is typically run fastest to slowest but, awards are given out based on times earned within age groups.

Online registration for 9-18 is still open but will close at noon tomorrow (29 May).

Even if you miss that deadline, reach out to Coach Rowdy and Myself for any late adds.

The Muppet meet (20 June) is for our 8U kiddos. This is a fun meet where the kids compete against swimmers of their own age (All 8-year-old girls, All 8-year-old boys,
All 7-year-old girls, etc.) and are awarded ribbons in their age group. This is a great opportunity to compete in the championship pool at Oro Valley before season end championships. The kids will become familiar with the rhythm and pace of an SAAA meet, how the tall blocks work warmups work at Oro Valley and experience the SAAA meet vibe. It is a great opportunity to build momentum and gain confidence ahead of championships. It is a great opportunity for your kiddos and I recommend attendance if at all possible.

Online registration for Muppet Meet is still open but will close (12 June) at noon.

Both invitational meets count toward your three-meet minimum to qualify for the championship meet at the end of the season! A great opportunity to bond with teammates and practice going off the taller blocks.

The team is looking good with strong participation in all age groups.
